The view shows the relative positions of the sun, earth, moon and the observer.
The earth is seen in its equatorial plane with a dark area for the night period.
A red dot represents the position of the observer.
A blue arc represents the time of day during which the moon is visible.
In times of new moon, you can not observe it, although it rises, transits and sets : it presents its unlit part.
The transit is indicated by a small blue arrow.
